I was recently introduced to Social Print Studio and was challenged to write a post about my favorite picture from 2015 so I obviously picked this one! A close second would be:
I didn't expect to be pregnant again (this past year) and as you know, didn't plan on it. The journey to come to terms with this pregnancy, a new baby and Lemon as a big sister has been an interesting one, especially for this only child (me!). But, as time goes on, I get more and more excited (and nervous!) to experience the beginning of a new life all over again.
Watching Lemon love on my belly and talk to her brother has also been unreal, something I never thought I'd see. I hope their love continues on the outside as well, siblings are definitely a new concept for me.
I am super nervous to have a boy, but excited to see what boys are like (what our boy is like!) and am totally freaked about being a new mom again at 37, and a mom of two. But, also excited to see what it's like to be a mom of two, and to see Lemon as a big sister. So much change, so much unknown but so much to look forward to!
It's interesting not expecting to be pregnant again, and definitely knowing I won't be pregnant another time after this. I am trying to relish every moment, be present and enjoy all the feels from the inside, including kicks and jabs from baby boy. I also hope to enjoy all of the newborn-ness (however crazy!) that comes with another baby, just knowing I won't ever get to experience it again. I'm trying to stay present and just take one day at a time.
Trying to find the balance between being completely freaked out and super happy has been an interesting journey, one that I seem to be on every single day! This picture was such a fun moment for us, captured while making our baby announcement video (hence the mess!), and it is when it all became real, sharing the news with everyone. Then, seeing our boy weeks later, and bringing Lemon to the ultrasound appointment, was one of the best days of my life.
