For Lemon's shaggy rug (that I got from Overstock), they sent us the Ultra Premium rug pad in the same size as her rug (maybe just a bit smaller so it didn't stick out anywhere). From their company, a bit about their Ultra Premium rug pad:
"[It will] protect rug and floor from damage and will prevent rug slipping . . . the rubber is real, sold rubber safe for all floors. It will not stick to, mark or damage the floor. [It] will last for 20 years."
The Ultra Premium pad is a thicker piece of fabric/rubber material. One one side is kind of a scratchy fabric that will totally hold your rug in place (think of velcro, like the bottom of your rug will stick to it and not move) and the other side is rubber and definitely doesn't seem like it will damage your flooring, and will not budge if you try to move it. What I liked about it is that it was thick, so it actually made Lemon's thin (I thought it would be thicker) rug, appear/feel thicker.
Rug Pad Corner also says that ". . . all of our rug pads are manufactured in the USA. All of our rug pads contain only natural American materials that have been certified LEED and rated GREEN for air quality." When they sent me a request for a review, this is what attracted me most to their company - these would be safe for my kids' rooms.
When we rolled the pad out it did smell a bit like rubber, and when I went back in Lemon's room later it smelled pretty rubbery. What I think I should have done was roll it out in another part of the house, let it air out, and then put it in her room. This morning, when I went in to get her out of bed, it didn't smell at all so I think it just needed to air out a bit, that would be my only suggestion when purchasing.
I also received the Super Hold rug pad for a very thin rug that we have in baby boy's room, and will add that review to this one when I have a chance to get his room in order - come on Spring Break! Their company has this to say about the Super Hold:
"[It] is an all natural rubber rug pad to prevent rug slipping. It does not contain the common adhesives like others, so it is guaranteed not to stain, stick to or damage the floor. [It] will last for 15 years."
This rug pad reminded me of those shelf/pantry liners you can buy that look kind of waffle-y with holes. Very grippy, thin and full of holes - like a shelf liner. I think it will be great for the thin rug in his room and will report back once I've had a chance to try it out.
Rug Pad Corner sends you instructions for your rug pad, as well as a document stating that they have a 30 day return policy (never a restocking fee) and say that their goal is that you are completely satisfied with your order. They also have their contact information and care instructions listed.
My overall view of this company, and our new rug pads, is that I like them and am happy I decided to work with them! I think you can't lose with these pads and find it very helpful that you just tell them the size you need, the type of rugs you have and the kind of floors you have - and they send the best pads that will work for you. Very no hassle and easy to work with - I highly recommend them.
